Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius

The eclipse season is always tough as someone who navigates physical disabilities and chronic illness. The energy is so inflaming, especially for those who have this happening in their 6th house, 1st house, or if the ruler of either is the Sun or the Moon. If that is you, then I hope you’re able to take care of yourself and tend to your body. Tonight is a good time to get some rest, and to cozy up in bed and SLEEP. For some, however, eclipses can trigger a bit of insomnia, I like to rely on herbs to help with this, particularly mary jane, lavender, and skullcap. Be careful when playing around with herbs, however, as lavender and weed can be hyper-stimulating for some folks.
Aside from the ritual I shared on IG, I also suggest doing a salt bath or shower. I’ll share a similar recipe below for those who are interested.

Let’s talk about this solar eclipse. This is taking place in the sign of Sagittarius and it is ruled by by Jupiter who is nearing the end of Aquarius. This is taking place in the second decan of Sagittarius where the moon is in rulership. It is here that the moon finds itself gaining a little bit of dignity over the Sun.
With the moon having additional dignity in this space, we receive an activation of the more physical manifestations of the eclipse. The moon in mundane astrology can be very telling of things that will physically manifest, as well as people in general. You can expect to see any physical needs that have been ignored further illuminated or amplified. As I mentioned, this will especially be the case for Cancer Rising, Sagittarius Rising, Aquarius Rising, and Pisces Rising giving the rulership of the 6th house. If you, like many other folks, find that solar eclipses tend to trigger bouts of insomnia alongside exhaustion, this is a good day to drape some sheets over the window and do your best to take naps when possible. In regards to the “people” aspect of the moon, we can expect to see a larger sense of restlessness out and about in those around us. More than this, there can be a bigger push towards religious ideas, a pull to embrace spirituality, and a desire for more expansiveness and travel. I’d suggest being extra careful in regards to COVID for the next few weeks as I anticipate folks getting hella restless and being a little less careful as they begin to travel again, especially with the holidays here/around the corner.
This eclipse is approaching a square to Neptune who is still within Pisces and has only recently stationed and is still hella slow. This approaching square will add to the frenzy of dreams that are likely to crop up around this time. More than that, this energy could also make those who are more psychically inclined or empathic feels as though they are much more psychically sensitive today and over the course of the coming week.

The Bath Ritual
Here are the supplies you will need:
Sea salt
Epsom salt (check that it’s ok if you have specific health conditions)
3 lemons or limes and the juice
A tbls spoon of baking soda or some ground charcoal
Any of the following herbs: Lemongrass, Hyssop, Eucalyptus,
Any of the following essential oils: Eucalyptus, Tee Tree, Rosemary
Part One: Bath
You can read the instructions on preparing a ritual bath blog post if you’d like a refresher. The ingredients listed above are all pretty accessible and you can substitute or use minimal ingredients if it helps. At the very least, a salt bath is best. After that, if you have lemons and baking soda/charcoal that can totally help! I suggest taking this bath either just before, during, or shortly after the eclipse to help release and ease.

Part Two: Altar Tool
I’m not going to re-write the instructions for this as I’ve listed the ritual on IG and on TikTok. The video is accessible with captions as well.
Basically, you’ll be preparing two types of salt - a cleansing one, and a purifying/detoxing one. The instructions and tools provided are what I use to make these types of salts, but you can also leave out a couple of things if you don’t have access (like charcoal for example). I highly suggest having at least the salt, one herb, and an oil for the cleansing one; and salt, ash, and oil for the second one. If you’re not great at drawing the symbols you can also print them, just look up “the nodes symbols.”
Part three: Rest
I know some folks come on to the rituals hoping to see a multi-step and POWERFUL ritual, but today as I did with the last one, I’m recommending y’all just rest and let the magic and change work itself out.
