New Moon in Aries: Seeding Intention

The Aries New Moon (From the Newsletter)
The new moon hits its exact point at 11:24 pm Pacific Standard Time or PDT Pacific Daylight Time on March 31 2022. With this new moon, we have the moon and the sun, as always, exactly conjoined at 11 degrees, which puts them in the bounds of Venus in the sign of Aries. While we do have a heavy martial influence given the sign of Aries being ruled by Mars, we also have this new moon taking place in the bounds of Venus.
Venus' presence through the bounds, with the planet also free of her besiegement, also grants a subtle sweetness, like the crispiness of caramelization on a banana's foster. Yes, it requires heat and patience, but it also brings a moment that is worth it.
Aside from Venus' influence through the bounds, I also want to point out Chiron's relationship to this new moon. Chiron has conjoined this new moon at 12 degrees. Generally, while the asteroids aren't necessarily categorized as malefic, or benefic, I do generally tend to place Chiron in a more malefic category just because of its nature of causing wounds to become a little bit tender and the way it propels us towards a more dramatic transformation. And so when we place this here with the new moon, this does tell me that there is an opportunity to start anew in the healing journey. Chiron's presence here and so close to the new moon gives us a chance to focus on the start of the astronomical New Year with this new moon and set a new intention for where we want to focus our attention in terms of healing.

Aside from Chiron, we also have Mercury in the same sign at nine degrees. While we do receive some lift from Mercury moving into Aries, it is, at this new moon, considered combust and is burning up in the rays of the sun thus being in a bit of a tough spot still. Imagine it this way, you’re walking up to a stage, you’ve got a speech you’ve prepared, all is good, but when you get up there, the lighting is all wrong. The spotlight is on you and you’re having trouble focusing, you can’t see the audience and how they’re reacting, and you can barely read your notes. Yeah, it’s a bit of a rough time.
A good deal of the energy we are moving towards has long been building especially when we consider Venus’ relationship to this lunation and all that is coming in the next month. I anticipate that this is a good New Moon to focus on utilizing Mercury's tools to channel some of that intention setting. This would be a great time to focus on doing a little bit of ritual work to help you release and give you something to look forward to.
Obvi, there is a good deal of energy taking place in the sign of Aries for this new moon, but aside from that we also have some other really interesting influences. Through the first half of April, we'll be preparing for Jupiter and Neptune to hit exact conjunction in the sign of Pisces. In this chart, they are already pretty close so prepare for your dreams to BLOW THE FUCK UP if they haven’t already.
What I do like about the pile-up in Aquarius is that we also have Venus finally free from besiegement between Mars and Saturn and heading steadily towards the sign of Pisces when Venus reaches Pisces (April 5th) we will get a little bit of a release. I’m speaking specifically about things that have felt like they are taking FOREVER to come to fruition. You may have already started to feel this with Venus moving past Saturn but you'll gain even more freedom once Venus reaches Pisces.
We also have the asteroid Juno conjoined Saturn within one degree. So I anticipate that this is also a really good time to focus on relationships and the dynamics you embody within a partnership. It’s also a time to explore what you're able to learn about yourself from others. Make space to ask yourself how you can care about another person without harming yourself in the process. And this goes for all types of relationships— not just romantic. While Venus, Saturn, Mars, and Juno aren't making a close sextile to the new moon (it's about 11 degrees apart so that makes it a very wide one) because we have so much energy going on in Aquarius and in the sign of Aries we would consider this a kind of a whole sign sextile where their energies are influencing each other regardless. So aside from focusing on your healing journey, I would also prioritize thinking about relationships and what newness you want to embody within those containers— whether that means exploring new dynamics, embracing your sexuality in a new way, moving towards or learning more about non-monogamy.

1️⃣ — Step One: Tarot Spread and Journaling Prompts
Use the tarot spread pictured above to get guidance on the ritual from your spirit court. Use the journaling prompts below to help you craft an intention. I am going to move towards including divination in all rituals because I want people to feel like they've gotten permission to do this working from their spirit team.
(one) How will this ritual influence my life?
(two) What advice does my spirit court have for me about the intention I’m seeding?
(three) What results can I expect in the near future?
(four) What energy do I need to embody for the next six months?
(five) What action do I need to take for the next six months?
Journaling Prompts
What dream vision do I have for the house that holds Aries in my natal chart?
What actions have I taken to bring this vision to fruition?
What action have I been afraid to take to make this vision come to fruition?
2️⃣ Prepare Your Plant Baby and Write Your Intention
For the Aries New Moon Ritual. I really wanted to prioritize intention setting with a focus on long-term ideals and goals. The first thing you're going to do after journaling and divining is set an intention. I want you to explore the house that holds Aries and or Aquarius in your chart and think about themes or goals related to the themes of that house.
So if you are a Libra rising, this may be related to relationships. If you are an Aries rising this may be related to identity and to the body or if you are Taurus rising this could be about your spiritual journey etcetera. I suggest setting space for yourself and putting on some music that awakens revitalizing energy within you— something that propels you to move forward and to take action. It can be a bit hopeful, but that's not necessary. It's about being willing to be a little bit courageous.
Once you write your intention on a scrap of paper begin gathering your pot and your dirt and either your seeds or the plant. Fill your small pot about halfway and put the intention inside, then put the quartz crystal inside, and fill it up with dirt.
3️⃣ Moon Water
Next, you're going to take your reusable jar and you're going to fill it with water. I tend to use distilled water or natural water when available (but I live in the desert). On the outside of the jar write a few words that you want to use to imbue energy into the water. So if you are setting an intention related to taking care of your body and tending to yourself, you might write things like health and wellness and energy and vitality— simple keywords that are related to your intention. Once you've written those on labels and put them on the jar of water, set that on your windowsill or outside to gather the intention or gather the new moon energy. I'm going to recommend that you don't use this water for any spellwork or baths but that you only use it to water the plant for however long.
4️⃣ Consecrate Your Plant Baby
I want you to take your three taper candles and prepare them. You can choose to carve sigils into them or related words to your intention. There is already so much energy in this working that it’s just fine if you leave them plain. If you choose to, add an intentional or spiritual oil to the candles. You can choose to dress them with herbs related to your work as well, though that's not a requirement.
Next, you’ll set those three taper candles around your potted plant in the shape of a triangle with the tip of the triangle facing up as in the shape of a pyramid instead of an inverted triangle.
Light those candles and focus on sending your intention into the plant. I would even go so far as to ask the plant for its name and build a spiritual connection to it. You can also grant it a name.
Let the candles burn until completion. Once the candles are brought to completion, you can take any remnants that you have and leave them at a crossroads or throw them away.
5️⃣ Tend to Your Plant Baby
Tend to your plant over the next six months and really do your best to take care of it. Water it with the moon water until you run out and allow that plant to be a reminder of the intention that you've set for yourself.
