Full Moon in Sagittarius and a Ritual for Purpose
An image of the night sky with a reddish full moon that is fuzzy and seen through thin branches reaching up.
Quick note, I usually share these intro details in my newsletter but I will be keeping the extra aspects and ritual to members only. So feel free to jump to the next section after the galaxy photo if you read the newsletter.
Dear Luna Lover,
When the world calls to you, are you willing to listen? Do you lean into the conch shell and ask the sea to speak to you? Do you watch the birds for a sign of something beyond yourself? As the Sun moves through Gemini, where do you seek symbols and how do you learn their messages, their mythologies? Are you allowing yourself to remain in a state of curiosity, even when things seem gloomy and overwhelming? Curiosity is one pathway to hope.
As we move towards closing this 6-month cycle related to your inner curiosity and larger philosophies, also consider exploring what “action” means to you. What does positive polarity look like in your life?
The sign of Gemini is an open encyclopedia, and a hand moving across the words seeking connection between ideas that feel so disparate. This is a sign that asks itself “What does it mean to be curious about the world? What am I here to learn?” Both Gemini and Sagittarius are signs that are active in nature, they are a fire spreading whether intentional or not, a cut path near a river diverting water to where it's most needed. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign, this sign is lightning along the sea, hitting ground, creating glass, striking the sea, illuminating the darkness. With both of them being mutable, this is very much about learning to cross borders, to walk along the fence posts, to move between spaces with ease. These are two signs that find wisdom and information through entering in unfamiliar spaces.
Gemini is a very active and inspired kind of energy, but I feel “curious” is the perfect word to encompass the sun in Gemini. So that’s what we have on one end of this full moon. On the other end, we have the energy of Sagittarius and when we place the moon here there is this idea of exploring purpose, meaning, and these larger themes. Sagittarius operates in a similar method to Gemini, both are very much about going out and actively looking around and engaging with the world as a way to learn both about yourself and society in general. With Sagittarius being a fire sign versus an air sign, there’s a slight variation. Everything that is learned, everything that is gathered, everything that is seen and absorbed, is meant to lead to a larger inspiration or more clarity on where your soul is pulled. Gemini does this more from a purely curious point of view.
So when we have this culmination that ties in both of these energies, this points to the need to unravel and sort through the little grains of wisdom. What in the last six months have you been working on and developing in terms of knowledge and wisdom. Where was your mind pulled in the late hours of the night when you couldn’t sleep? What questions were you googling, what books were you browsing?
Further, what about this information shifting your own internal value system? What small navigational change have you made in the course of your path? Because of everything that you’re learning, this is a good time to take stock and take inventory on these aspects of your journey.

Additional Realm Only Details
The first important aspect that I want to look at is Saturn’s involvement in this lunation. With Saturn being at 25° it’s only 2° away from an exact aspect. The moon will apply more quickly to an exact sextile. Then we also have the sun 2° away from applying to an exact trine. Saturn is in the same polarity as both the sun and moon. In this case we also have the same element between Saturn and the Sun. So Doña’s involvement here is through this idea of overall long-term wisdom and knowledge. Saturn is inviting us to move beyond thinking of this as just the closing of one cycle, but rather, the ending of only one phase of our journey. We’re being asked to consider as the full moon goes exact, what we still have to learn in our knowledge-seeking ventures? What questions have remained unanswered these last 6 months related to the house that holds Sagittarius and Aquarius? What is the next step forward in our spiritual and wisdom-seeking journey?
With Saturn retrograde as well in this lunation, it’s not just about considering the long-term goals but truly asking yourself whether the things that you’ve applied yourself to learning are things that you’ve actually absorbed. Where have you rushed the knowledge because you were you eager to share it or because you wanted to move on to your next phase?
The final thing that we wanna talk about briefly is Jupiter‘s role in this, being that it is the ruler of the moon itself in this chart. So Jupiter is currently in Aries at 5°. We do have a whole sign trine with both the moon and Jupiter in the same element. It’s unlikely that you’ll really feel the energy of this trine, especially because this aspect is generally a more gentle one and not something that we are usually aware of or that we can pinpoint. Here’s the curious thing, shortly after this full moon, when it moves into Capricorn, it’s gonna make it a square to Jupiter relatively soon after. So I would totally encourage you to (during this full moon) think about where in your life things are naturally flowing or going easily. What are you able to utilize from your toolbox in moving towards action and growth. Once the moon moves into Capricorn followed by this square, there’s gonna be more tension with the things that were trying to initiate, the things that we are trying to have an active role in. This is why I encourage you to develop and readily have access to your inner and outer tools so that you can rely more easily on what comes naturally to you and the ways that you’re able to get things done more easily.

The Ritual
SUPPLIES
A small charm bag or jewelry bag in the color white, black, or purple.
Crystals you may want to incorporate: selenite, smokey quartz, quartz.
Herbs you may like: Mugwort, Rosemary, Chamomile, Calendula, Bay Leaves.
Oil you may want to use: Psychic empowerment oil or healing oil.
Optional additions: Small charms that are related to breaking through blocks, your purpose, your vision, etc.
The Steps
Begin, as we usually do by connecting to your body and taking a few moments to touch base with your breath. Take a few deep breaths slowly, until you feel in touch with your inner magic.
From there, I want you to begin cleansing your supplies, your space, and yourself.
Once you’re ready, I want you to take your small charm bag. Start by adding a little bit of oil to your fingertips. Draw on any symbols or sigils that may be of use in this ritual. I suggest a drop of water, the sun symbol, deity symbols, a circle. If you’d like to add an extra oomph and you enjoy sewing, you can sew in or embroider these symbols as well.
From here, I encourage you to add any of the herbs you chose to include. I recommend adding one bay leaf first with the words “clarity and healing.” From there, I would add rosemary. I encourage you to blow on each herb and connect with it, asking it to aid its magic in your ritual and guiding it in what specific way you need help. Finally, I encourage chamomile if you are working through self-imposed blocks (doubt & self-sabotage for example).
Finally, add in any crystals and charms, following the same steps as above. I would especially encourage the use of selenite.
Once your bag is complete, add a few drops of your oil (I recommend a psychic empowerment oil) and tie it up and let is sit on the window under the full moon.
Following the full moon, you’ll want to use this bag by sleeping with it in your pillowcase, under your pillow, or near your bed. Each night before bed do a little meditation or prayer asking for blocks and confusion to be removed regarding your spiritual purpose.
Once the Sagittarius new moon comes, you’ll want to return these ingredients to the earth by giving thanks, an offering, and burying them or offering them to running water.
